Seoul (South Korea) - LG Electronics has lifted the curtain on its thinnest TV to date, with a thickness of just 45 millimeters.

The "Scarlet" LG60 HDTV will be available in sizes from 32 inches to 52 inches.  It comes with a touch sensor to allow more seamless operation of turning on and off the TV.

Another feature is automatic brightness adjustment, which changes dynamically based on the ambience of the room.  Additionally, it produces the best picture quality available for LG, says the manufacturer.

The new form factor is not a world record, though.  Hitachi has a line of high-def sets that are just 35 millimeters thick.

For aesthetics, the LG Scarlet has splashes of red coloring.  It also has LG's Expert Mode feature, which fine-tunes the picture based on the current source (video games, cable, video camera, etc).

Other technical specs include full 1080p resolution with 100 Hz, a 15,000:1 contrast ratio, four HDMI ports and USB support.
