Los Angeles (CA) – The high-tech action movie Iron Man rocketed to a $201 million world-wide weekend opening. The comic book adaptation of the famous Marvel Comics superhero made $100.8 million in the United States and the rest internationally.
Iron Man cost an estimated $135 million to produce for Marvel Studios. Paramount Pictures distributed the film. Sega has also released its Iron Man game for the Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3.
