10 years ago a LCD monitor was a difficult sell compared to the common CRTs. There were only a few benefits of a LCD at that time (lower energy consumption, less space) but many shortcomings: lower resolutions and sizes available, poor refresh rates, dead pixels, worse colors, and, of course, the price. At that time, the idea of LCDs completely replacing CRTs was almost unthinkable, and yet it happened.

I think we can compare regular HDD and SSD to CRT and LCD. Right now SSD are way too expensive with reduced capacity, but at the speed in which they are growing in size and decreasing their prices, it will take just a couple of years to catch up HDD.

I appreciate his opinion... but, how did his opinion about HD-DVD work out for him?

Had Sony not made so many underhanded deals and tempted corporate greed with an anti-consumer DRM scheme called BD Plus? Would have worked out well, I imagine, but the consumer dug their own grave I suppose, now they have to sit in it. =)

As for this, I'd really like it if you stopped calling them SSD drives, there are other varieties of drives that fall under the vague category of SSD, and flash is an inferior format, MRAM on the other hand, that's where the money is.
