Brussels (Belgium) – Torrent aggregator The Pirate Bay has announced a new blogging service that promises writers that they can post almost anything they want. The free Baywords service only requires the blogger create a username and input any email address. Blogs created in Baywords will have an XXXXX.baywords.com address.
According to The Pirate Bay, Bayword bloggers can be assured of their anonymity and freedom. “Many blogs are being shut down for uncomfortable thoughts and ideas. We will not do that. Our goal is to protect freedom of speech and your thoughts. As long as you don’t break any Swedish laws in your blog, we will defend it,” states the Baywords website.
While the interface and blogs are fairly minimalistic, Baywords plans on adding several more features including support for your own domain (instead of the XXX.baywords.com domain name), CAPTCHA verification and unfortunately ads. Hey you gotta pay for the bandwidth somehow.
