Redmond (WA) - Nintendo today announced the last detail of the release of Wii Fit, its price.  When it launches on May 19, consumers will be shelling out $89.99 for a copy.

That will make it the most expensive Wii game in the US.  That's due to the fact that it will come packed with the new Wii Balance Board controller.

The Wii game DDR Hottest Party with a packed-in dance controller costs around $70.  Virtually every other Wii title is priced at $50, making the standard price for Wii games below that of PS3 and Xbox 360 titles that mostly sell for $60.

Wii Fit is a game that allows users to track their weight and take part in exercises that utilize their whole body.  With the Wii Balance Board and Wii Remote working in tandem, controls are set up that really have users get involved with the game.

In related news today, it was revealed that 2K Sports' upcoming "Prizefighter" will use the Balance Board.  A skiing game and a cheerleading simulation title are also on tap to use the unique foot-controlled Wii input device.

Additionally, Nintendo also announced that it will begin taking pre-orders of Wii Fit at its New York City-based Nintendo World Store on April 18.  The first 1000 people to pre-order the game there will receive a special T-shirt with a signature of the game's main creator, Shigeru Miyamoto.
