There is lots of confusion about AMD cutting its workforce these days. And even if AMD has publicly stated that there won’t be any reductions in its workforce, we have received word that that two managers in EMEA region are about to leave the company - and this is no April Fools joke.

Chris Talago, former boss of AMD public relations in EMEA (as he was introduced to us) and Gianluca Degliesposti, director of business development, received pink slips as a part of a restructuring of the firm’s EMEA organization, we were told.

It surely looks to us that AMD is on a people diet. We expect the company to head down towards a staff count of 15,000 as part of the upcoming "Asset Light" announcement. More details to come.

Update: Jon Carvill, head of AMD PR in Europe, the two managers decided to leave on their own accord and pursue other interests.
