This will certainly steal a lot of exchange users of win mob over. Though I still like the Sony X1 better and the keyboard.

I certainly will agree that the Sony X1 looks very appealing and I can understand why many would like to go that route. I have used many phones with different qwerty setups, and that one looks to be at least as good as most.

The unfortunate part however is that outside of the nice looking hardware and flashy home screen, it'll still be stuck with plain old Windows mobile.

As a prior user of many windows mobile and PalmOS devices, I can definitely say that WinMo to this day is still junk. This coming from a .NET windows developer. For the last few years I had gotten familiar with it and use to it, and could get everything done that I needed too. But even then, it was still a chore to use and not satisfying in the least.
I can still remember the first day I picked up an iPhone and was just blown away by the interface. sleek, clean, and responsive. It was everything windows mobile wasn't and for all the right reasons. I too was skeptical not having a hardware keyboard and it took some time to become accustomed to the unique solution of the iPhone. But over time I have become very confident and much faster with the onscreen keyboard than I ever could have imagined.

I have indeed "jailbroken" the device and use many ported OSX applications. With the release of the SDK, I can only imagine the innovative things developers will come up with. It's truly an incredible device.

So I say to you, if you haven't picked up an iPhone, definitely spend some time with one before you decide to buy that Sony X1.

Unless you got little girly fingers, X1 is just unusable. Keyboards like on the Samsung Blackjack or Blackberry curve beat the living daylights out of X1.
