On February 26, Sharp and Sony signed a non-binding memorandum of intent to establish a joint venture for producing and selling large LCD panels and modules. This is an initial sign that the long-term competitive structure between Korea and Japan will shift from Samsung and Sony versus Sharp, to Samsung versus Sony and Sharp. More here at Digitimes.
