Im not to sure the comment 'It will likely be the last time HD DVD appears anywhere on the top five', is entirely true.
With i am legend still to come on hd dvd i think that may make a dent in the top 5. Maybe twister will as well.

not much of a match here.
Can't just look at one week's data since there is different movies releasing each week and ""Michael Clayton" did suck big time while "American Ganster" commercial is all over TV.
what's with all these "HD DVD not dead yet articles? once say HD DVD is still selling, one say bd price is not comming down...
either way, toshiba/microsoft is washing their hand and all 6 major studios are releasing in blue ray...so what else is to compete?

Or just that you have bought a HD DVD player and won't let it go .... well, you have to buy as much HD DVD disc as possible to make a collection...since there is nothing else coming your way.

We've seen all the movies; a clock counting down to zero, a train speeding to the railroad crossing as the hero in their car races to pass in front of the train, or the sports team that scores the wining point at the last second. All of this just sounds too good to be true, and makes for a memorable exit.

It's just interesting to me that HD DVD should find it's own exit in Hollywood fashion.
