Burbank (CA) - The dramedy that went from Myspace to NBC has been canceled after one episode, after it received the network's worst rating for its time slot in 20 years.

Airing at 10:00 PM Tuesday night, Quarterlife came in at a distant third place among the networks with 3.1 million viewers and a 1.3 rating among the 18-49 crowd.

The show began as a microseries on Myspace's video sharing site, and is the first such show to be brought to network TV.  It was highly touted by NBC and seen as a potential new wave of TV content.

The show was announced during the writer's strike and was poised to make waves as the only new scripted drama to air in the middle of the union feud.  However, the writer's strike ended just before the Academy Awards, putting Quarterlife in competition with other new shows.

Remaining episodes will air on NBC's sister cable network Bravo, according to sources reported by Reuters.  It is unclear if new episodes will continue to be made for Bravo.

Further proof that the folks running the networks are complete idiots. Cancelling any show after 1 episode is aired is just plain ridiculous. Do they have so little faith in their own ability to pick TV shows? How about letting a new show have a few weeks to build a viewership? It's not like the networks are showing anything but reruns and lame reality shows. I watched Quarterlife and liked episode 1 and would have watched more episodes (I had never seen any of the webisodes).

most people that like it already watched it on web...why go TV...if they want young people to watch...most of them are busy partying or playing video games or listening to ipods. regular fokes are just not interested in craps on youtube except the 3.1 mil retards out there.

I know that there is a lot of B class stuff out there on the internet. So, I am not too suprised that NBC moved it to another network after the pilot bombed.

I loved the whole premise of this show. It reflects what is going on today with social nertworks such as YouTube and how it affects people in real life. I thought the ensemble cast was excellent and I wanted to see more of it. How could NBC be so lame!

It is crazy that such a ground breaking show would be given a few weeks to find its audience. Since when should one episode represent the totality of a show? I especially enjoyed the whole premise of the main character and her MySpace entries. I liked the dyanmics between the main characters and wanted to see what happened next.
