Why buy an entire cd when 3/4 of the music on that cd is crap. Better just to buy the 1 or 2 songs you like online for $1/song.

If the industry wants us to buy cd's than they need to release quality music. I buy all my music online and probably will never my an actual cd at a store again.

I agree with the poster above, alot of the songs are filler and i'd rather get the ones i like than buy garbage.

Also, I feel it's a time to let go of cds, i don't want to have to keep a chunk of plastic taking up space in my house when i'm going to rip those songs to my computer anyway. In fact, i don't want to go through the trouble of ripping if those songs are crippled with drm, so i'd end up buying a non drm digital copy or just downloading the song through other means if need be

Well I happen to ONLY buy CDs. I might be "old school" in my doing so, but I have total control over the quality and format of the music I choose to put on my digital music player. Until I'm able to download a lossless and non-DRM audio format that I can then compress myself to mp3, ogg, or etc. I'll continue to buy, rip, and convert to whatever format I choose my own cds.

What happens when one of these online music sellers bombs and goes under and something happens to your digital audio player or hard drive and you don't have a backup of your audio collection, which a lot of people don't do anyways? You're pretty much f'ed, but for me worst case scenario I have to re-rip my entire collection.
