Hmm, unusual for Nvidia to release a mid-range card first, and not a new flag-ship. Makes me wonder where in fits in comparison to the new 8800GT and GTS (512MB)? This card will unseat at least one in their current line up. Either this card is so fast it beats even the 8800 Ultra (we could all hope), or likely it falls just under the 8800, so it will replace the lack-luster 8400,8500 series.

There new chip is supposed to be 45nm.

Maybe they are doing like intel and other companies trying to milk their old line up dry.

They are even doing shenanigan's with their own chipsets not having 2.0 pci support but claiming to be new.
