Burbank (CA) - Warner Bros has announced nearly two dozen new Blu-ray movies that will be coming out this year as well as five more already confirmed for 2009, its first major product update since it announced it will be dropping HD DVD in April.

The only new title announced for a soon release is Dirty Harry: The Ultimate Collection, a Blu-ray box set, with a Q2 2008 release.  Other titles confirmed for later this year are Clash of the Titans, How the West Was Won, The Adventures of Robin Hood, and Mutiny on the Bounty.  The list includes several titles Warner had previously released exclusively on HD DVD, like V for Vendetta and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

On April 1, Warner will terminate its HD DVD support.  Around half a dozen titles are still on its HD DVD schedule before that date.

For 2009, Warner has already confirmed Blu-ray releases of Ben Hur, Gone with the Wind, North By Northwest, The Wizard of Oz, and Woodstock.
