i know this particular person in Dubai who bought them. Believe it or not, all 5 panels were installed in his private yachts! (honestly, they are ship-sized yachts)
Total of 15 panels were sold in the UAE so far, hence, the worldwide figure should be higher.

If you really want to have an 8.5' screen, it would be far cheaper just to buy an XGA projector and connect it to a PC. An XGA projector will give you a 1024x768 resolution, which should be enough to enjoy your movies. OK, it's not HDTV, but it would be close and wouldn't cost $500K.

In fact, you could throw in a dedicated living room PC w/XP-SP2 installed, a Creative X-Fi ELITE PRO sound card with an external box, a 5.1 speaker system w/coaxial SPDIF input, a Gyration GC1205FKM wireless keyboard & mouse, and still spend under $3,000.

Toshiba has a TDP-T45U XGA projector for less than $700 if you're curious.

I don't see why he didn't install pt ae 2000u projectors instead,120 in. screen vs. 103 in. Apparently money is no object for this guy, these projectors are hi def.,have 1500 lumen, and a knock out picture!And only cost $2700.00 apiece!

There is one of these units (103" Panasonic HDTV) on display in the shopping mall attached to the office I work in (it's Central World Plaza, in Bangkok, Thailand).

They have a Blu-ray player hooked up to it, playing a sort of "show off 1080p" disc, with clips from different movies, and so on.

And it's just beautiful. You literally have to stand out in the mall, outside the store, to be far enough away (about 10 feet) to really "see" it all. People are literally life-size on the screen. If I was a multi-millionaire, I would build a home-theater around this TV. (well, maybe not, I like going to the movies, but anyway). It's really very sharp.

People drive Ferrari's because they are expensive, not because of value for money. I dont think compromise is part of the game plan here..
