Las Vegas (NV) - Bioshock has received 12 nominations for next month's gaming awards at the DICE Summit, a new record, including game of the year.

The awards are given away every year at the DICE (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) event.  Set to be held on February 7, the awards show commemorates achievement in PC, console, and handheld gaming.

Bioshock is on the nomination list for 12 separate categories, more than any game before.  They include outstanding innovation in gaming, console game of the year, computer game of the year, and overall game of the year.

Other titles nominated for the top award are Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, The Orange Box, Rock Band, and Super Mario Galaxy.

How is it Mass Effect has been overlooked so consistently. It had it's problems (some of them glaring), but this is easily the best American RPG ever produced.

Of the 5 games nominated in the above article : How many are on only the Xbox 360 and how many only on the Ps3 ? Here's some more food for thought: Still think Ps3 doesn't have games. Think again. Quality over quantity matters for some people. P.S : No I don't any consoles; I'm a PC gamer.

For Call of Duty not sweeping the awards, this is why DICE has consistently remained at the top of my list, they recognize what a great game is, not what a great rehash is, unlike the gaming journalism sites and that joke the Spike TV awards.

Let's face it, you follow the formula, you make the short list for the game awards. The Formula: 1) A little bit of story, with maybe a twist or two. 2) High end graphics,audio, etc. that require hdw
