Although the small- and medium-size panel industry entered the slow season in December 2007, most LCD panel makers expect rising demand from low-price notebooks and UMPCs (ultra-mobile PCs) will continue to drive shipments for medium-size panels for the first quarter of 2008. However, with handsets and digital cameras to see dropping performance during the period, small-size panels are expected to feel a larger affect of the slow season, according to sources at panel makers.
