New York (NY) - Users with Linux installed on their PS3 can now stream any game from their PC to the gaming system.

A service called Stream My Game makes this a reality.  It "networks the power of a main PC so it can be used to play high end games on other PCs, PS3s and Linux devices," according to the site's CEO Richard Faria.

In other words, if you can play it on your PC, you can play it on your PS3.  This is true even for DirectX 10 titles, and it has been confirmed on video with the impressive hit Crysis.

Although it is planned to eventually include broadband support, right now Stream My Game only works with a LAN connection.  Also, the free version of the service only outputs in 640 x 480 resolution.  Users can subscribe to a premium service for around $10 to get HD output.

I guess if you can't get up and walk to you're computer or if you're at a friends house (they still do not offer internet service, just LAN as stated above). I wonder if you could just plug in a Xbox controller LOL But if you where at a friends house, then you would have about 1/4 of a sec delay. At this point why not just buy a laptop with bad ass graphics and use the AV out? a lot have HDMI and composite.

I suppose it has some use if someone else can use your computer for other things at the same time. That's the one and only use I can think of stright of the bat.

If a PS3 can play crysis with everything turned up.. man its worth it to buy a 500$ PS3 when it costs 1500 in graphics card hardware to run it on full and have it playable (ref Toms hardware and the tri-sli article)

^^^ The PC is doing the work! as in running the game. Video is streamed over the network via software. Mouse and keyboard is streamed back. I saw a video somewhere with a guy playing Crysis but it ran like crap because his PC was crap.
