Tokyo (Japan) - Nintendo's unique workout software for the Wii is already a smashing success in Japan, reaching a million unit sales since its launch last month.
Wii Fit is a first-of-its-kind "video game" that comes packed with a new controller called the Wii "Balance Board". Designed to determine your weight as well as other statistics like your center of gravity, the board acts as the main conduit between the Wii and a real workout. When it launched on December 1 in Japan, customers were lined up, some for hours, to be the first to get their hands on the non-traditional title. By reaching over a million units in just over one month, it has proven itself as one of the fastest-selling titles of the new generation of gaming. Wii Fit has not yet been given a solid US release date or price, but Nintendo has confirmed a stateside launch for the first half of 2008.
