when will the lcd tv be in sizes of 55inch or 60 inch above that is in a sub 2000 level?
right now only the 37-42 inch lcd tv are commonly available and affortable.

I just recently purchased a rear-projection Sony SXRD 60" TV. It's easily one of the best displays I've ever owned.

Andy is right. There is still a place in the market for 55" sets right now. LCD is getting there, but is still too expensive. Plasma is there already, but is rediculously expensive.

The best we can hope for is that the demand for larger sets will lead to shorter development times for LCD panels in this range.

It's good they've cut it out of their business model.

This will also likely help bring more development to the OLED market, spurring development and reduced cost for the consumer.

Andy, the prices will continue to fall as more and more people purchase LCD televisions and the manufacturing costs are reduced by innovation and adoption of the technology.

Visio has already made millions of dollars capitalizing on the decreased cost of manufacturing of panels, and their efforts will continue to drive prices down for the consumer.

If you need a large television from Sony you can just purchase an LCD projector. Or we can use our old rear screen systems till the market allows us to buy a comparable panel. That's what I'm doing. :P

I bought one from DELL for 1999 for Christmas. It was on sale, but still a better deal than a DLP that I'd have to buy a bulb for in 2 years.

All Sony products are having issues these days. I'd not buy anything Sony until they get their act straightened up. Mainly by stopping their heavy support of the RIAA.
