Good! We might be watching the birth of a new monopoly, of the joint operations kind, but still, we might not, while today we have greater chances of being affected by monopolies from the Intel and Nvidia.

Why is this always brought up? As long as there are choices there is no monopoly. All they are doing is displacing R&D costs. Just because one company has the best current technology, doesn't mean thay have a monopoly. If you want you can buy the compitition. Nobody is forcing you to buy their product. There is always a choice, you just have to be willing to pay the consequences for that choice.
IMHO I think this will actually improve compition. With the exception of IBM and maybe Samsung, none of these companies have the R&D budget to keep up with Intel and deliver on advanced design that is not a generation behind. I see this as a great thing for the future of technology development. Maybe we'll see those hybrid optical computers come to market faster this way. Ibm's tech, AMD CPU & Chipset, Samsung memory, ect.... New Frontier?
