Mountain View (CA) - Google accounted for more than 65% of all Internet search requests in November, a new record for the online giant.

According to the latest report from Hitwise, which tracks Internet trends, Google's market share in the search engine arena was 65.1% in November.

That's compared to 64.49% from October, and 61.84% during November of last year.  Following in typical fashion were Yahoo, far behind at 21.2%, MSN at 7.1%, and Ask.com at 4.6%.  

Those numbers are slightly worse for Yahoo and MSN compared to a year ago, but Ask.com's share actually went up.  It has rolled out user-friendly privacy guards, which has struck a chord with some Web surfers.

I tried Ask.com but I did not like it as much as Google.com. Google.com was easier to use and had better results; IMO.

By the time Ask.com deletes your search info, Google has already gotten hold of it. They have an agreement that supersedes this new security promise.

Google is my startup page, it's easy and light, but I just added Mahalo at my search engines toolbar at Firefox. Never used it yet though, but I might, as when it does not find anything, it gives out Google's results. And there is a reason and a consequence for this. This article is a proof of both of them. I don't like gmail's search instead of sort and conversation view, hopefully they'll change it soon, but I wish Google all the good luck in the word, just an aid to their aiming at the top, ie. MS.
