Yawn.....

I'm curious, Dre, what did you expect from an article titled "Microsoft releases Windows Server 2008 RC1", an announcement that it would cure cancer or something?

Anyone who actually uses computer technology for anything aside from the latest games has likely been waiting for Longhorn for quite a while.

Yawn? The most used and in my opinion the easiest and most secure server OS EVER is about to be upgraded. 2008 is even more secure, easier to use and powerful than the legendary 2003 (which holds the share of server market and is growing above even free alternatives).

That's not a yawn. Maybe not exactly exciting like teenage mutant turtles, but something as a server admin I look forward to.

My yawn comment is in regards to the fact that most sysadmins won't bother to update to this OS until at least the first SP is out.

As far as it being the easiest server OS to configure and.. (choke) the most secure, I would have to disagree. About the only great thing about this OS is virtualization support and the nice fat wad of cash that companies are going to have to fork out for using it.

Quite frankly, there is very little to be said about this OS other than an empathetic yawn...
