Redmond (WA) - Microsoft today announced that it has cut prices on five of the best-selling Xbox Live Arcade games.

The "Arcade Hit" program is kind of similar to the Xbox's "platinum hits" distinction, where games on the digital download service are given new, cheaper prices.  The price cuts are permanent.

Microsoft says the new prices will go in effect tomorrow but their website already lists the reduced price for each affected title.  Bankshot Billiards 2 and Lumines Live, both of which were originally 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) are now 800 Microsoft Points ($10).

Marble Blast Ultra, Small Arms, and Zuma Deluxe, all of which launched at a 600 Microsoft Point price, are available for 400 Microsoft Points ($5).

The games available suck big time. They are all worth half of what they ask for them. You can get similar and most of the time better games for the PC for free online and perfectly legal.

You think Sony is any less greedy then M$!?!?!? Your crazy if u do. Can you count how many formats they've tried to steal just to get the royalties?? M$ and Sony are the same. One is from the US one is from Japan. Sony has just been less successful at monopolizing markets, however Sony apparently is better at projecting the good guy image.

Comeon is a freaking price cut without losing any features. They were a few of the BEST selling.. Meaning they probably gonna keep selling. I applaud the initiative. I still think Wii > all

I guess your point would be valid if I didn't own a PS2, a PS3, oh and a Sony 50" brava LCD TV. I do dislike Sony and M$ because the do some dumb things like trying to take over the world, but i'm not so closed mined that I won't buy their products that are good and worth my time. I don't buy stuff just because some troll or sheep thinks it's what I should buy.

Seriously, why do you dopes bother opening up your mouth when you don't have anything to say. I bought Small Arms the last time it went on sale and it is a riot. Lots of fun local multiplayer and online. Can't wait to get bankshot billiards. played the demo and the ball physics are actually quite impressive and lifelike. Nice work Microsoft. Thanks for the price cut!
