Environmental Science & Technology Online has posted an article whereby the examine the possible uses and dangers of future nano-technologies.  Will there be enough oversight and materials regulation to keep us safe?  With devices so small potentially everywhere in a few years, what is being done to keep this technology from causing more harm than good?

I'm wondering what's to keep someone attaching bad proteins to a nanobot and releasing them into the water also. In the White House there'll be a new scandal called "BadNano Water" and they'll make a movie called "There's SomeNano in the Water." Next thing you know we'll have rappers with names like "NanoChris" and "Snoop NanoNano."

Read 'Prey' by Michael Chricten. The software parts are nonsense and I doubt he's predicting the future, but maybe this can give us an idea of what to expect.
