Intel has unveiled dual-core Intel Itanium 9100 series processors built for managing high-end applications and featuring features that improve reliability and reduce power consumption. The 9100 series accentuates the ongoing shift from proprietary RISC products to the choice offered by Itanium-based servers, according to Intel. The 9100 series represents the sixth generation of Itanium chips, with three future generations under development, the company added. More here at Digitimes
