Los Angeles (CA) - MTV and game developer Harmonix have announced the full list of songs that will appear in the multi-platform game Rock Band, spanning four decades of rock music.

In total, 58 tracks will be part of the ambitious rhythm game.  Some will even be original master recordings, while others are performed by cover artists.

Rock Band is unique because it is the first music-based game to include support for multiple instrumental controllers to be used at once.  Gamers can plug in two guitars, a drum set, and a microphone to literally create their own rock band.

Wow, I see a lot of terrible 2000's "nu metal" and 90's era boring, talentless grunge crap in there. The 70's stuff looks OK. However, not including a song by GN'R is a fatal mistake!! And Metallica "Enter Sandman" ?? They couldn't think of a better Metallica song than that too include?? Sticking with Guitar Hero 3.

This isn't the first game to support multiple controllers at once. Anyone who has played Guitar Hero knows that it supports a Lead Guitar Bass Co-op mode. Still, I'm super stoked about this game. Can't wait until Nov. 20th!

I was super-stoked when GHIII came out only to be disappointed by its mostly lame song selection. Rock Band doesn't seem to be any better. Ugh.

mississippi queen, cherub rock, sabotage and paranoid are also on guitar hero 3. itll be cool to see how they compare. wonder if playing single player guitar on rock band for those songs will be close to guitar hero notes?
