Los Angeles (CA) – A new gaming vest promises to help gamers feel every brutal punch, stab and even square-in-the-chest shotgun blasts.  The “3rd Space” vest from TN Games reproduces impact with eight air pouches that inflate rapidly thanks to an external air compressor.  Pressure can be varied simulate everything from a simple tap on the shoulder to a baseball bat to the chest.

The pouches are divided evenly between the front and back of the vest.  A processor converts game impacts fed from a USB cable and gamers can feel impact on their chests, stomachs, backs and shoulders.  The strength of the impact, along with the direction, can also be simulated.

We saw the vest in action at the E for All Expo in the Los Angeles Convention Center.  It’s one thing to read and listen to a company’s sales pitch, but it’s another to hear convention attendees describe their experiences with the vest.  You can watch our video to hear two attendees, Josh and Alex, talk about their surprising “test drives”.

President and CEO Mark Ombrellaro, MD told us a full suit, complete with gloves, pants and helmet will be available in the future.  The 3rd Degree vest itself will hit store shelves in November for around $180 each.  Black, digital camouflage and pink (yes pink) colors will be available.
