Why would Intel make the X38 obsolete before it hit the ground running and stress out motherboard sellers? Why even bother with a x38 chipset if the x48 was coming out just a mere year later? Of course the X48 was underdevelopment. Im pretty sure Intel was just waiting for a good time to release it.

That goes for any technology. Well, actually that goes for Anything and Everything you look at and buy. They all have to be underdevelopment for a good amount of time to perfect its self.

Outdoing competition, pay attention to the market's wants/needs, and timing is the decision to release any new product.
