Mountain View (CA) - Google has added video searching to its beta version of "Google Alerts", allowing users to keep tabs on new videos that match a certain search term.

Users can type in a specific word or phrase and have Google filter out corresponding videos on a daily or weekly basis.  It searches through Google Video, YouTube, and "many other video sources on the Web," according to associate product manager at Google Amy Wu.

Google Alerts already allows users to be constantly updated with specific news, blog, or discussion group updates.  Video alerts are available now.
