The new ThinkCentre A61e, also called "BlueSky" by its manufacturer, is the first desktop offered by a major system builder that is available with AMD's low power Athlon X2 BE-2350 or Sempron LE 1150 processors. According to Lenovo, the new system is considerably smaller than its predecessor and does not take up not more space than a typical phone book.

The manufacturer claims that the power consumption of the A61e (not including a monitor) does not climb above 45 watts. Also the desktops are built from up to 90% of  reusable or recyclable materials, while its packaging is also recyclable at up to 90%, according to Lenovo.

Prices for the PCs start at $400 for a system that is equipped with a Sempron LE1150 CPU, 512 MB memory, an 80 GB hard drive, a64 GB Radeon X1200 graphics chip and a 16X DVD-ROM. For an extra $100, buyers get twice the memory as well as a CD burner. The cheapest dual-core unit with a BE 2350 CPU currently lists for $649 on Lenovo's site and includes 1 GB of memory and a 160 GB hard drive.
