I understand the fear but it is as if you have never been in a negotiation (think used car or real estate) where they promise "oh this and that are covered" and then renig on the deal and that the this or that breaks?

No one can see legitimate uses? Assuming the PVR device works like most (always recording, able to playback/save up to the last n minutes/hours) then here are a few:

- that car accident you just witnessed - captured for future police reference.
- the guy who just robbed the 7/11 you're working in - captured for future police reference (with a camera that magically pointed at the action instead of the door)
- Road-rage guy that forced you (doesn't happen to me) off the road and started screaming at you and pounding on your hood - busted!
- That hole in one you just shot while nobody was watching - played repeatedly on the big-ass HDTV whenever your buddies are around.
- The sixty foot putt that broke left, then right, then left again, paused at the edge of the hole and then dropped - see previous bullet.
- Those planes you just watched inexplicably fly into those skyscraper's - it's amazing to think someone captured that stuff w/o a product like this.
- That chick who's dress caught the wind, exposing her thong in all its glory - OK, so not all uses are entirely moral, but that certainly doesn't mean there aren't times when it would be nice to be able to reply the last couple of minutes of what you were looking at.

Well, for one; I don't know why I'd want to wear this fugly thing instead of designer sunglasses and use my cell phone with 2GB MicroSD to take videos at much greater resolution...

And I don't think we need to worry about perverts because they need to be facing and staring at the object so, they'd look VERY suspicious.

But interesting product anyways; but "Spies" have much better equipment... and transmits the data instead of storing it... (evidence)

Think of the cool possibilities though for snowboarding/downhill ski racing, base jumpers, etc.
I imagine it would be alot easier to just wear a special pair of glasse.

I used to work for a LARGE corp where one of the executives would record all meetings he was part of. He had gotten tired of people saying they'd do something (in a meeting) and then later acting like they never did. Lots of people were actually pissed that he was recording the meetings. He simply told them "if you don't like it, quit".

There are people in this world that do lifecasting, like iJustine. They would love something like this, a product that simply works.. they wear the funky glasses and others see what they see. It almost like being in another person's head. Quite cool !

I'm sure as miniaturization goes on, we'll see more products like this one appear, until they drop prices to affordable ones.

I can see it being used on roller coasters where one might close your eyes on some parts and one would want to see where what one has missed(?). It could be used on other rides where one would not have to hold a camera. One could remember the ride at a later time. Since they are compact, it would be easier to carry with you when one sees a beuatiful sunset/sunrise or other places of interest. One could use it when the action is too fast to see and one can review what happened. The list can go on. The limitation is the high price but it will probably go down when the technology improves.

Any new technology has good uses and bad uses, these are no different. Good people will use it one way, bad people will use it another way

Google maps with video clips, take with these. Anywhere you visit you can place a video clip (first person) and people can see what you saw.

If you can only think of privacy violations, you might enjoy reading "Transparent Society" by David Brin (presciently written in 1990's). The powerful will always be watching the rest of us. This sort of device evens the playing field. We can speak "truth to power" by recording what actually happens. This sort of device is inevitable, and it'll get even less visible and hold more hours of your life. It becomes a part of your "memory," just stored outside your brain, and should, in USA terms, be part of your "5th amendment rights" where you don't have to supply it -- "I refuse to answer on the grounds that it may incriminate me." Of course, the powerful will want the right to seize it against your will, so only cryptography and broadcast backups will save you then.

I recall similar glasses being in Mission Impossible with Tom Cruise, it is only a short time until they can stream the video right to the Internet wirelessly from the glasses.

The Tessera company have recently developed a tech for making digital cams 50% smaller than today.
Cams in Sunglasses will be even more used coming years even if Tessera´s innovation is for the cellphone makers.
