Berlin (Germany) - Nero today released information about the upcoming Nero 8 software package for creating, editing, ripping, converting and burning digital media content.

Optimized for Windows Vista, Nero 8 sports a brand new user interface, which it says will maximize efficiency with a "one-stop solution for creating and managing digital media projects."

For example, every form of multimedia editing is available with one click from the product launch page.  Nero says the new package will also include full support of high definition video, including playback of high-def disc video.

Nero 8 will also allow users to upload videos directly to sites like Youtube and Myspace.  Additionally, the new software will contain more advanced CD, DVD, Blu-ray, and HD DVD burning features.

Other enhancements include live previews of files before opening them, integration with the Vista sidebar and a data backup feature.

The application will be available direct from Nero for around $80 or at retailers for around $100.  Existing Nero customers can upgrade at a discounted rate.  The release date is scheduled for October 1.
