New York (NY) - Sandisk's latest addition to its Sansa line of MP3 players is the Clip, a miniature device designed to rival Apple's iPod Shuffle.

The Sansa Clip will be available in 1 GB and 2 GB capacities, and will carry an FM radio, voice recorder, and a basic OLED display.

The Sansa brand has gained mass appeal, landing Sandisk into the #2 spot of top selling MP3 players, behind Apple's iPod.

The Sansa Clip will be available September 1.  The 1 GB unit is set to retail for $40, with the 2 GB model at $60.  The player will come in blue, pink, and black.

what will replace the shuffle?

With the zen stone plus and now the clip, apple is bound to release a shuffle player with a screen on it. Question is, what are they gonna call it?

OLED Screen?

The OLED - organic light emmitting screen - would make it last longer (battery power wise) since it does not need back lighting to be seen. IMO - it makes it cooler too.

I'd like to see a photo for that. $60 is just a tank of gas to me but that's hours-a-day of happy kids at home if it looks like a cool toy for them. I also like the sound of the OLED screen. I always had hopes that OLED technology would flourish.
