Ebay couldn't possible keep track of all the firearms and stuff sold in their auctions. I'm sure they're afraid of being sued. I bet they're legally liable and can't just claim ignorance.

It's the same reason why we make obtaining a gun difficult in the first place. Obviously, we want malintentioned people to purchase their guns and accessories on the black market. We must make sure that those who sell guns legally, to people who can legally obtain them (of course, said people would *never* commit crimes!), do so with a clear conscience, secure in the knowledge that the guns they sell will never be used in a crime. The black-marketers are already breaking laws, why should they care if the guns are used to murder people?

Here's some irony for you. You'll never see Ebay stop the auctions for automobiles due to the possibility that some drunk might climb behind the wheel and cause an accident that results in a death.

All American citizens need to realize that this is not good for business and that the general trend of holding manufacturers, retailers, and resellers liable for crimes committed with products they sell is an afront to personal responsibility and perpetuates a mentality of victimization. Firearms are just an easy emotional hot button topic that is intentionally being misrepresented to slowly but surely limit civil liberties and whittle away freedoms for the sake of security.

People don't know anything about personal responsibility in this country. Every corporation has to make sure their butts are covered because people sue over any and everything, and Ebay is already under criticism for the anything-goes nature of its site. And you know there's some idiots who believe the companies "should have known" that the virginia tech shooter was up to no good.

The simple and obvious fact is that, within the next 10-20 years, you will be able to MAKE a gun, from raw metal, in your garage with about $5k worth of equipment. Idiots.

Lets ban the sale of all car parts. If you put all the parts together and make a faster car then you can go out and run a whole group of people over. Cars kill more people per year than guns and most drivers would have had less training. I'm sure eBay would have the same legal responsibility as auctioning firearm components

1) Knives (cutting)
2) Flammable stuff & Fire
3) Water (drowning)
4) Soil (burying)
5) Locking up (with no ventilation)
6) Certain kinds of strings
7) Substances toxic to humans
8) and many-many more

So, eBay, please kindly ban "Swiss Army" & "Iron cheffs' choice" cooking knives because I am worry that some psycho can potentially kill all my friends with such a reliable cutting devices.

When it comes to lawsuits there is no such thing as personal responsibility. They go after whoever has the money.

There are many countries do not allow civilians to have firearms not even just a small sword without sharp edges.

There's always alternative, like government services or strictly licensed civilian services to solve those situations that firearms are required.

if we use that logic, then what do you really need?, do you need that hummer?, that cell phone?, high speed internet?, HDTV?, answer is no you don't NEED them. Its not about need, gun owners enjoy the sport and want to continue to do so, just as any other sport or activity.

If someone wants to inflict harm on somebody they will, and they will use what ever they can to do so. Guns are an easy target because most people are brainwashed into thinking they are evil, and this thinking comes from movies and TV, not from real life experince.

The bottom line is the government cannot protect you, do you know how many home invasions are stopped by home owners with guns each year?, maybe they should just wait for the cops and "hope" they survive.

gunbroker.com is more or less an ebay clone but its used to sell guns, ammo, parts, ect. I got my gun from a seller on that site and I didn't have to do anything too unreasonable. I was rather surprised at what I could buy on that site, armor pricing ammo, fully automatic weapons, silencers, you name it. Some states make these things illegal but other than that if you have the right paperwork its legal to own in the US.

its not the responsibility nor should it ever be for a company or a business to change laws. im not talking about laws against or for guns either. im talking about the sue happy lax court system that let people get away with suing anyone and everyone for anyhting they want.

If you think there is no need for firearms just remember that we would still be a British colony if individuals weren't allowed to own firearms. The first amendment was designed to protect citizens from the new government, the second amendment was designed to allow us to do something about the government again if the need arose. The Bill of rights was written in order of importance.

Guns whether used for sport, or violence all are marketed as weapons. These guns are branded as weapons because they have the "capability" to end some one's life. Guns are manufactured to kill and destroy, thats why legally paint ball "markers" are no longer called guns. Because the term "gun" is legally linked with the assumption that it is being used for as a weapon. So next time you make a potato gun, make sure you call it a projectile launcher instead(jk).
I know many good honest people can use guns, but that does not change what a fire arm is capable of.

Grow up and deal with it, there are thousands of Annual gun shows all over the country, and sport shops in every mall. Legitimate gun collectors, or owners can purchase them through a registered dealer.
