Bellevue (WA) - NCSoft announced today that it will bring the new installment to the online epic Guild Wars to PC consumers next month.
Guild Wars: Eye of the North is the first expansion to the two-year-old Guild Wars game, which is unique because it does not charge users a monthly fee to join the online universe.
The massively multiplayer online role-playing game has sold more than two million copies. There has been a handful of new campaigns but Eye of the North is the first full-fledged expansion to the game.
Those who pre-order the new expansion will receive a bonus pack with several exclusive in-game items, like the Glacial Blade and Hourglass Staff weapons. Pre-order customers will also have access to Eye of the North for a sneak peek during the weekend from August 24 to August 26.
Guild Wars 2 is also already on the release calendar, slated for some time next year. The Eye of the North expansion pack will be released on August 31.
