Acer has begun testing the water for its Gemstone-design Aspire consumer notebook lineup in the US by introducing the Aspire AS5920 through the retail channel Best Buy, according to sources at Acer. The AS5920, which is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 CPU instead of the more common T7100 or T7300, is aiming at similar models from Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Dell, according to market sources, noting that Dell's Inspiron 1520 is also powered by a T5250 CPU.
