Round Rock (TX) – Dell has started bundling online storage with new Inspiron and XPS desktops and laptops.  New Inspiron owners will get 3GB of storage through Dell’s DataSafe Online service, while XPS buyers will get 10GB.

Dell is also offering upgraded capacities for those who want more than 10GB.  Computer buyers can upgrade to 10, 20 or even 30GB of storage.  Dell will charge $39 for a year of 30GB storage.

The service allows users to backup files and folders through an application that Dell will pre-install on the computers.  The stored data is encrypted and password protected.
