Bittorent has begun offering a software development kit (SDK) for consumer electronics devices. The company hopes that hardware manufacturers will make use of the SDK and include the content delivery platform in devices such as network-attached storage (NAS) products, set-top boxes, digital media adapters and routers.

Among the first companies to announce Bittorrent functionality for its products are Buffalo, which will integrate the technology in upcoming NAS models, Marvell, iAdea/Star Semiconductor, Asus, Netgear, Planex and Qnap.
