Miami (FL) – Alienware has announced a new entertainment center PC that doesn’t look out of place under your TV.

Called the Hangar18, Alienware’s new EPC integrates lots of processing power and storage capacity to take you into the high-definition age. Priced from $2000 for 720p capable units, the Hangar18 sports a stylish design that is reminiscent of typical high-end AV devices and comes with a 250 GB hard drive, an AMD Athlon X2 4200+ processor, 2 GB of memory, 802.11 b/g connectivity and a joystick-like remote.

Check those option boxes ($200 for HDMI and 1080p support), and you will quickly break through the $3000 mark and end up at nearly $4000 for the top-model with 2 TB of storage space, 4 GB of memory and a $4600+ processor.

What is missing in the Hangar18 is a high-definition optical drive, which many customers would expect for a price north of $3000. A spokesperson told us that Alienware will begin offering a Blu-ray drive in the September time frame. No word on pricing yet.
