San Mateo (CA) - Mobile entertainment company I-play announced this week that it has signed on Universal Pictures to bring streaming video clips of dozens of feature films.

I-play's "Movie Minutes" will feature clips from movies such as King Kong, The Fast and the Furious, and Animal House.  It claims its deal with Universal marks the first such arrangement to bring motion picture content to a mobile platform.

The media player will work with most advanced cell phones.  Clips are arranged by them, genre, or alphabetical listing.

Sprint Verizon, Rogers, and Amp'd customers can access the new video service from their carrier's respective mobile video portal.  Movie Minutes are planned to be rolled out to other major North American carriers "imminently."
