Patent infrigement suit are all the rage lately, not surprising, but quite adequate since patents are made to protect IP from being raped into oblivion by other companies. And if this translates into stagnant or higher prices for the PS3 consoles, well this goes to show how Sony cares about their customers...

Don't blame Immersion for suing Sony, blame Sony. They should have been paying royalties the whole time, or have developed their own rumble method.

sony steals all sorts of Intellectual Property and passes it off as their own. Glad to see they're finally having to compensate those they harm.

Sony treats their customers like a bag of dog crap. eg's can be found on "the best page in the universe" aka maddox's web site... and a large number of other places. Personally, above all else, I look for a company that has good ethics overall before I dive into any product... It's kinda like church... you gonna go to the one that supports killing people and stealing and is based around your "donations" or a church that wants to help people out... you know... even if it costs more and may not be as good of a product, i'm gonna hit up the company that doesn't lay off 500 people a year. i want one that pays decent wages, or supports my community, because if you don't look at that, then you're paying to get bent over... so sony is out of the book for me on all that. ESPECIALLY when there are companies that have QUALITY products rather that the crap that Sony puts out... and I'm actually rather sick of giving them the respect of a capital s for their trademark/namesake... maybe i should just put a $ instead of an s to show what they're really all about... hmmm.

I don't see the big deal. Rumble kinda sucks. I turned it off on every system I have that rumbles. It just eats up batteries and really doesn't give me any kinda immersion. The only time its nice is on steering wheels.

Sony, while known for doing some stupid bullshit, and their record labels being part of the RIAA, and for colossally fucking up the PS3, and whatnot and whatever, is not renowned for submarine patents.
