That will be nice. Interesting to see what the die shrink will do for efficiency/power usage. Also, why not attempt an overclock? Just a suggestion!

I jsut got my elite, now this news, MS is starting to get me upset!

It's not going to effect you much as a consumer besides maybe slightly less power usage, so why worry about it? You will get the same experience as any later adopters that buy the system with a 65nm GPU, so it is really not that big of a deal.

You can't really overclock a console and expect games to run right. They're not PC games with a mutable clock timer on them. They are set so they always expect the 3.2Ghz clock to be 3.2Ghz, not higher, or lower. Any changes to the clock speed could have major impacts on game performance, and not good ones.

well to the above guy...err if it is who im refering to, its the idea of having 65nm...not the fact.thats all...the idea of having the newest,when u coulda had it...like getting a k8 when k10 is next month(exagerrating,,heh cant spell) it makes u mad!!!!...but thats not the point

What would you have MS do? Not release the 65nm CPU? They can only release the hardware that is available. The 65nm versions are not readily available yet, so how in the world would they release them? If you are saying they should have released the Elite yet, well, maybe you should not have bought it if 65nm was important to you... It's your fault, they did not force you to buy it. Still though, all 65nm will do is make the unit run cooler, but, if the Elite already runs cooler it won't really matter. Stop whining.

the new technology is for cost cutting purposes, cooler machines, not for performance gains.
And if you're REALLY worried about heating issues, perhaps it's time to stop puttin the 'computer' on the floor, buried in a cabinet, or anywhere else where it'll suffocate or pull in dust. These things are not the old NES people. You can't get away with it anymore.

um how come we don't have our 65nm cpu yet? Good news, once both of these components are used the overheating issues will go away all together.

The system already runs hot, to overclock it would cause so many crashes with the system and broken xbox 360's. Altogether, like the other guy said this is not a PC, not like you can put 120mm fans on it and have the right cooling system. I'm just waiting for a water cooled xbox 360 Ultimate model ...lol

If they do throw in the 65nm CPU, I can see MS cutting prices for XMAS
