Symbol Technologies has released a new computer that can be worn on either the hip or the wrist. The WT400 line of computers have a 2.8" 320 by 240 pixel screen, 128 MB of RAM and use an Intel XScale PXA270 520 MHz processor. Designed to be used mainly as a product scanner in busy stockrooms, the computers are ruggedized against bumps and 4-foot drops to concrete.

The 11.3-ounce WT400 can also withstand temperatures up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit, down to minus 4 degrees. Communication is provided with integrated 802.11 a/b/g wireless and Bluetooth. 64 MB of Flash memory helps boot up a Windows CE 5.0 operating system.

The WT400 computer has a base price of $2790.
