Chicago (IL) - With the likes of Sony continuing to push the production of Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED), it is no wonder we are seeing this display technology push into related consumer electronics categories. Kodak is laying claim to a first in this regard, unveiling what it says is "the world’s first consumer-available wireless picture frame" featuring OLED technology.

What is the big OLED deal? Kodak, and others, feel it delivers "greater color depth and saturation than other displays, on panels that are substantially thinner, resulting in a sleek, low-profile design." This would hold well, therefore, in a digital picture frame environment where size matters. This new frame from Kodak though will cost you though for this first, running around $1000 come November.

The wireless (WiFi) feature built into the new Kodak OLED Wireless Frame will let you display pictures as well as access to videos and music stored on a PC elsewhere in the home. It will also enable "connectivity to online photo and video sharing sites and Internet content portals for news, weather, sports and more."

Other features of this the frame include a 7.6” diagonal digital panel, Kodak picture enhancement technologies, an ambient light sensor, a "premium" built-in sound system, uploading of pictures wirelessly (among other options) and storage of up to 10,000 photos via the 2 GB of built-in internal memory.
