San Francisco (CA) - JiWire, a company specializing in supplying advertisements in exchange for wireless Internet access, announced today it has opened up its service to the iPhone and iPod Touch.

The announcement comes from the Macworld Convention in San Francisco.  JiWire operates in over 100,000 hotspots across the country, including airports, cafes, and hotels.

Flagship sponsors that will deliver advertising specifically to the iCrowd are Charles Schwab and HBO, among others.  The service is called "ads for access" and users will need to agree to the company's terms to tap into the wireless network.

"The incredible success of the iPhone represents a tipping point in the mainstream use of handheld, Wi-Fi-connected devices.  Our Wi-Fi advertising platform is ideal for both network operators seeking suitable business models and for marketers seeking to capitalize on the unique advertising opportunities we offer," said JiWire CEO Kevin McKenzie.
