Milpitas (CA) - Sandisk has announced its newest portable media player, incorporating up to 16 GB just in time to compete with Apple's newest video-capable iPods.
Sandisk's Sansaview plays back H.264, MPEG-4 and Windows Media format videos. It also contains an FM radio, the ability for line-in recording, and measures in at just 0.35 inches thick.
The Sansaview will be available in both 8 GB and 16 GB capacities. It also is built with a microSD card slot, which will add a potential 8 GB when the newest high-capacity microSD cards comes out next year. The current max for microSD is 4 GB.
The 8 GB Sansaview is set to retail for around $150, with the 16 GB model getting bumped up to $200. Both are planned for a simultaneous release next month.
