MSI launches Big Bang Fuzion motherboard

MSI has introduced a motherboard that allows gamers to simultaneously run multiple GPUs from different companies.

The Big Bang Fuzion is powered by LucidLogix’s Hydra 200 parallel processor - which works with any GPU, CPU or chipset to provide scalable 3D graphics performance in a multi-GPU computing environment.

"Affordability, flexibility, and performance remain the defining attributes among hardcore gamers who prefer to tweak their systems to meet their individual style and needs," explained LucidLogix CEO Moshe Steiner.

"At the end of the day, we give gamers more choices. [They] know that when they are ready to upgrade tomorrow or six months from now, they can choose from the latest technology on the market, regardless of the graphics chip vendor."

Steiner added that Hydra offers a "generic" solution for performance hungry gamers whose requirements have been hampered by an inability to upgrade to multiple GPUs.

"This new approach provides interoperability among GPUs and chipsets, auto-correct load balancing and multiple GPUs that simultaneously process a single frame within a game, thus resolving bottlenecks and inter-frame dependencies prior to rendering."

The MSI Big Bang Fuzion motherboard will be available in mid January 2010.
