Tulsa to account for 85% of 4-way server CPU shipments from Intel in Q1 2007
Intel's Tulsa processors, which were officially launched last month as the Dual-Core Intel Xeon 7100 series, are expected to account for 85% of the company's total shipments of four-way server CPUs in the first quarter of 2007, up from 60% projected for the fourth quarter of this year, according to sources at Taiwan motherboard makers.
Then, the proportion will be further increased and reached 95% in the second quarter, the sources noted, adding that Intel's next-generation four-way server CPU, codenamed Tigerton, is expected to be introduced in the following quarter.
