Clone notebook share worldwide declines to 14.5% in Q2

  • The combined share of clone (white-box) notebooks in the total worldwide notebook market continued to decline to 14.5% in the second quarter of this year from 15.7% in the first quarter, according data released recently by research firm Gartner Dataquest. In terms of volume, the combined shipments from clone notebook players (referred to as the non-top-10 brand vendors) totaled 2.55 million units in the second quarter, as opposed to the 2.83 million units they shipped in the first quarter, the firm reported.
