Washington (DC) - Microsoft announced today that the presidential inauguration team has chosen Microsoft's Silverlight browser extension application to play host for streamed online content of inaugural events.
Said Brad Smith, Microsoft's general counsel, "Microsoft is proud to be part of this event by helping to bring the inauguration activities online. Just as during the campaign itself, Internet technology is enabling people around the world to participate more directly in historic events in new and exciting ways."

Obama's team has previous experience using Microsoft's Silverlight, as it was also the content enabler of choice for the August 2008 Democratic National Convention.
